Day 9

I made it to Fresno, California tonight - I'm staying in an interesting room - the smell of urine is pretty much overpowering, there are smears of blood in the bathroom and they gave me the remote to the TV with my key and told me there was a 5 dollar charge if I didn't return it tomorrow. I think I should stay away from the 30 dollar special hotels.

Anyway, today was majorly just a driving day, (unfortunately) I left beautiful Astoria, had to pop back into Washington to get onto the highway, and basically drove on and on until I hit Fresno, about 14 hours. I'm exhausted, I didn't get many pictures today, just a few interesting things I saw on the way.

Here is some huge amount of smoke being poured out from something - a factory, a fire, I'm not sure from the color, but it filled the entire sky for miles around.

I thought this mountain was pretty cool looking, it pushed all the way through into the clouds.

And then I hit California! You can tell from the sign that says "California".

Not much to say today, it was just a lot of driving. I'm starting not to feel well again, the driving is really starting to get to me. But, I'm excited, I'm off to see the family tomorrow, I haven't seen some of them in over a decade! Family photos tomorrow!
